What is MOTS-c?
MOTS-c (mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide (MRWQEMGYIFYPRKLR) first described by Lee et al. in Cell Metabolism in 2015. It is one of a small family of mitochondria-derived peptides.
